What is CPPD?
CPPD stands for Continuing Personal Professional Development. It refers to the process of tracking and documenting the skills, knowledge and experience that you gain as you manage your own learning and growth.
CPPD is about setting yourself objectives for development and then charting your progress towards achieving them. It’s about where you want to be and how you plan to get there.
A useful way of recording your CPPD is by creating a portfolio of evidence, and clinical staff are required to complete a portfolio of evidence of their professional development for registration purposes. For those not in a clinical role, a portfolio or reflective diary can still be an important tool for recording what you have achieved and what you want to achieve in future.
CPPD is generally completed in your own time, and at your own expense.
The Education Department have made all details available here of courses and CPD opportunities.
