South West Leadership work to empower people in the South West to secure better health, care and wellbeing outcomes through leadership. As part of Health Education England (HEE), the NHS South West Leadership Academy’s philosophy is simple – great leadership development improves leadership behaviours and skills. STEPPING UP PROGRAMME

Are you a black, asian and minority ethnic (BAME) leader or an aspiring leader? Do you want to progress your skills and go further?

Stepping Up is a fully funded, two month positive action programme from the NHS Leadership Academy. It has been designed for individuals working in bands 5 to 7 who have an interest in developing their leadership abilities and want to be involved in creating a transformational change in equality and diversity across the health and care sector.

Stepping up has a track record in supporting individual leaders to rapidly progress in their career – enhancing their leadership capabilities and building confidence to lead. We are delighted to announce that from February 2020 we are running a cohort of this successful programme in the South West!

Dates of the programme:

Venue: Taunton, venue is yet to be confirmed.
Module one: Tuesday 11th February & Wednesday 12th February 2020
Module two: Wednesday 18th March, Thursday 19th March & Friday 20th March 2020

Programme days run from 9am to 5:30pm, except for the final day of each module which finishes at 3:30pm.

READY NOW PROGRAMME

Aimed at those working at band 8a and above, the year-long programme seeks to provide a leadership experience that can assist participants to effectively and sustainably develop their leadership ability and not address the particular challenges that BAME leaders face. The programme is not just about the development of individuals; it is an initiative designed to influence the development of more inclusive cultures in the NHS as a whole.

Fully funded by the NHS Leadership Academy, Ready Now is a year-long programme which provides a combination of face to face, online and self-directed workplace-based learning.

Once your EoI has been received, you will be able to download your application form.

THe one-day programme is aimed at leaders of all levels who have an interest in using coaching approaches to engage and support their teams. It is designed to provide a foundation in the practical application of coaching skills in day to day work, focusing on developing the foundation skills of coaching.
